to a successful website

The term holistic web design wants to express that it is about more than just a juxtaposition of different areas. Holistic means that an awareness of the whole emerges and the connections between the individual parts are taken into account, because the whole is known to be more than just the sum of its parts.

Planning and research

In the beginning phase of a web design project, it is essential to first define the scope and goals you want to achieve. Who is the target audience and how could the website be designed accordingly. What influence does it have on a business?

If a new feature is introduced, the web designer should ask himself how this change affects the entire user experience. For example, does it simplify or complicate the functionality and the experience for the user? And is the new feature even supported by all devices? Sometimes even the smallest changes can have fatal consequences if one point is overlooked.

Holistically approaching a project means that you have to pay attention to many things at the same time and how the individual parts work together.

Holistic content

Also regarding the content of a website, a holistic approach is always an advantage because you will not only write content on certain keywords, but also cover related topics and terms. This has a very positive effect on the search engine ranking. For example, if you have a text about running shoes, you might want to consider the areas of foot shapes and deformities because they are related to it. The more holistic and comprehensive the content is, the better it is in the ranking. Using only a high keyword density nowadays can cause almost the opposite, like deteriorations in the search results.

In web design, everything is connected. The trick is to combine all of these parts optimally in order to provide the customer with a tailor-made solution – a website that appeals to the target audience and offers the best possible user experience.
